Fresher’s Reception at EWU - Urge to Build the Nation with Non-Communal Zeal

The orientation program for the newly admitted students for the Fall Semester 2021 of East West University (EWU) was held on the Zoom platform on Tuesday, 19 October 2021. Nearly 1000 students were admitted to graduate and undergraduate programs in 13 different departments this semester. EWU arranged the orientation program for the newly admitted students. The objective of the program was to welcome new students and introduce them to university facilities, faculty members, the academic system and the rules and regulations of the university.
Prof. Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chief Adviser, EWU and Former Governor of Bangladesh Bank, was the Chief Guest of the program. Prof. Dr. M.M. Shahidul Hassan, Vice Chancellor, EWU was the program Chair. And Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ziaulhaq Mamun, Pro Vice Chancellor of the University facilitated the orientation program.
Speakers at the event described the recent violence in Bangladesh as tragic. They called upon the new students to prepare themselves to work for the welfare of the country and the people by embracing the non-communal consciousness. At the same time, they reminded the students that EWU does not tolerate any kind of discrimination. Members of the Board of Trustees, faculty members and officials of EWU also participated in the program.
