On October 27, 2022, IEEE East West University Student Branch had a spectacular IEEE Day Celebration. Following the corona epidemic, IEEE EWU SB and IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter hosted their first offline IEEE Day Celebration event.
The Chief Guest of this day was Dr. Muhammad Ziaulhaq Mamun, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of East West University. Abdul Mubin Ahmed, Senior Director of Engineering, Ulkasemi Private Limited; Mozammel Haque, Executive Vice President; Head of Department, Software Research & Engineering, Product & Technology, Bkash Limited; and Sabila Enun, Entrepreneur, Tech Enthusiast, Experienced in ICT4D, Campaigner for Women's Empowerment, & Management Professional were among the special guests at this event.
Branch counselor of IEEE EWU SB Md. Rafiul Abdussami, Senior Lecturer, Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, advisor of IEEE EWU SB WIE Affinity group Nusrat Jahan Ananna, Lecturer, Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, advisor of IEEE CS SBC of EWU Dr. Maheen Islam, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Dr. Mohammed Ryyan Khan, Chairperson, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Dr. Taskeed Jabid, Chairperson, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Dr. Anisul Haque, Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering were also present there. The event took place at East West University's Razia Samad Lecture Gallery in Room # 242. The most amazing aspect was how engaged and enthusiastic all IEEE Volunteers were for this event. They shared their daily experiences, which served as a great source of motivation for the new entrepreneurs. The guests' wonderful motivating speeches and sharing of their own stories at the event's opening were truly amazing. The program arranged for the pupils included the Rubik's Cube Challenge, a chess competition, and a programming competition. In the Rubik's cube competition, there were 15 participants, and the winner solved the Rubik's cube in 16 seconds and the runner-up solved it in 19 seconds.
Following this event, the quiz competition was started, and about 16 among 35 participants took part in it. To organize the programming competition, we needed a computer lab. There was prize money and gifts for all winners. Md Rafiul Abdussami, our honorable branch counselor, presented gifts, crests, and prize money to the winners in the prize-giving ceremony.
