Webinar Workshop on “Capacity Building in Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Teaching Methods” on Saturday, 11 December 2021

Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is organizing a series of workshop on “Capacity Building in OBE Teaching Methods” for the faculty members of each department, where the faculty members share their OBE teaching-learning methods and student assessment tools with the expert members. In this continuation, a webinar workshop on “Capacity Building in OBE Teaching Methods” arranged by IQAC on Saturday, 11 December 2021 for the faculty members of the Department of Economics. The webinar began with a welcome address by Professor Dr. Basanta Kumar Barmon, Director, IQAC, EWU. Professor Dr. Muhammad Ziaulhaq Mamun, Pro-Vice Chancellor of EWU gave a motivational speech on the importance of the OBE approach, and what the university is required to do about this new framework for the faculty members. Dr. Biva Arani Mallik, Assistant Professor, and Chairperson, Department of Economics chaired the session.

Professor Dr. Syed Ferhat Anwar, Academic Advisor, Professor Dr. A. K. Enamul Haque, Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics, Professor Dr. Bijoy Prashad Barua, Adjunct Professor, Dept. of Economics, and Dr. Farhana Ferdousi, Associate Professor, and Chairperson, Dept. of Business Administration, EWU were present at the event as resource persons. At the end of the presentation of each group, the resource persons gave their valuable suggestions about the course curriculum, teaching methods, and student assessment tools. Eighteen faculty members were participated in the webinar. In addition, the senior faculty members were also present at the event.

The session was highly interactive, and the participants thanked the EWU authority and appreciated the IQAC for organizing this type of program. The fruitful workshop was ended with concluding remarks by the Director of IQAC. The Director expressed his sincere gratitude to all respected resource persons, session chair, and the faculty members.
